Contributions to Oltorotua wells through UU Congregation of Frederick

The UUCF treasurer, Janice Schlepp, e-mailed us that the collection from the congregation was more than I initially thought. Which is why I was a teacher and not an accountant. Janice wrote that a check to Rotary will go into Monday’s mail:

The amount of the check I wrote today to the Fredericktowne Rotary Club was for $5,226.38.

Again, thanks to everyone! This is a wonderful amount from my friends both in the UU congregation and those who live all over the country and who actually had to do the multi-step process that got the check here.  Again, thank you, THANK YOU, THANK YOU FROM JACKSON, THE VILLAGERS, AND ME.

WildebeestJackson is at his new safari camp in the Mara. The Great Migration of wildebeest and other wildlife that follow the green grass is happening now. Thousands of wildebeest, many zebra, and smaller numbers of Grant’s gazelle, Thompson’s gazelle, eland and impala!

Of course, the predators who lie in the Mara River and wait for the crossing are enjoying full stomachs. And visitors (lucky you) to this spectacle are enjoying what is truly is the greatest game show on earth! Jackson called yesterday to be sure we are all well and to say he is very busy at camp but also well.

For updates on the migrations and fantastic photos, see Paul Kirui’s blog.
