I received an e-mail from friend Peter Liech. He wrote: “I am just from the Mara. It is very dry. I passed near Jackson’s home, and things are not any better. If it doesn’t rain, the situation in the Mara will be so bad.”
Even when we in the US experience droughts, we can still turn on our faucet and obtain clean water. The women in Oltorotua need your help. The worse the drought, the further they must walk for clean, usable water.
A little about Peter. He is a safari guide and founder of Kenya Self Help Project, a wonderful project to empower young women and provide worthy students with scholarships after grade 8, the highest grade Kenya provides public education. They have a new website and I encourage you to check out the creative way they help keep young women in school.
