Race to Save Rhino

NASCAR in spirit, not speed! 2012 race described as “synonymous with a special kind of Kenyan madness.” The 10-minute video describes why contributions are important; money raised goes to build electric fences to save rhino and elephants.

2013 update from Louise Leakey and her all-female crew in Car 17:

The all girls Car 17 is almost set for this years Rhino Charge. It will be on June 1st and we now know that it is somewhere in the rift towards Lake Magadi. It’s been wet this year. Thank you again for your following and your generous support for our team this year and in the past.

We have set up a LIVE FOLLOW page that you can also find at www.rhinorouge.com (We leave at 7 am in the morning and finish at 5pm – but apparently this live follow page works best in Explorer or Firefox rather than Chrome).

We plan to head south into the rift,  to set up camp on Thursday the 30th May and make ready for the event on Saturday 1st of June 2013. We plan to make another video to share with you when we return and we will send you a write up of the event too.I hope this year we make the finish! We are looking forward to it and hope that with this joint effort we are able to make a significant contribution towards protecting the mountain forests and water towers of Kenya.

Thank you again and look forward to being in touch again very soon. Louise
