Thanks, Community Montessori School!

coin jar
A few weeks ago I left a jar to collect coins, along with photos of the Oltorotua women hauling huge jugs of water on their backs, at Community Montessori School when I spoke to the 3-6 year olds. The jar was placed on the counter in the main office as students and parents entered. Even with the visible location, when CMS administrator John Redmond plunked the almost full jar down in front of me two days ago, I was amazed!

The jar contained — drum roll, please — $73.90! Okay, check my math (not my strong suite) with the label on the jar, but I figure $73.90 is almost enough to provide two villagers with clean, pure well water for life! Thank you, THANK YOU to everyone at CMS. It’s gratifying to see youngsters in pre-school learn the joy that comes from giving. Just a few coins in a goofy plastic jar can make a big difference in someone’s life.

Have a great holiday season, everyone.
