Well Funding Complete!

YEA! I just got an e-mail from Tim Winter, a Fredericktowne Rotarian who is handling the grant process, that the final funds will soon be allocated and the project will actually begin very soon.

The Rotary Foundation will not allow a project to start until they have received all funds from contributors. Sounds like a good business practice to me! However, waiting for the paperwork to be completed during the last few weeks has been frustrating. Thanks for all your hard work, Tim. Thanks also to the core Rotarians I know have been helpful:  Steve King, of course, and also Frank Faust, along with Tim. And to all the Rotary Club members who have helped move the Oltorotua well project forward.

If you live in the Md/DC/VA area, you can thank southern Maryland Rotarians by attending the big St. Mary’s County Oyster Festival. It provides a huge fundraiser for the local Rotary Clubs plus the food is superb! We had a great time last year and this weekend’s weather looks to be sunny and cool–perfect for enjoying Maryland seafood delicacies! I’m salivating just thinking about the fantastic oyster chowder Steve and the Leonardtown RC make.
